Market Can Go Down Another 5-7%, says Manish Sonthalia of Emkay Investment Managers
First kind of capitulation that started on Friday and is continuing. It is to do with uncertainty around budget and regime change in the US.
“It is just a correction,” said Manish Sonthalia, Director & CIO at Emkay Investment Managers. Markets needed a reason to correct and uncertainty around budget and regime change in the US are few of the reasons. The markets can go down another 5-7% percent, but not anymore, he told NDTV Profit. He further added that he doesn’t see markets sustaining below the 22,000-mark for very long.

BSE Share Price Target: Goldman Sachs Initiates Coverage
Goldman Sachs on Monday initiated coverage on BSE with a ‘neutral’ rating and a target price of Rs 5,060 per share, a 1% potential upside.
BSE is the second-largest stock exchange and is poised to benefit from strong growth tailwinds, the brokerage said in its report. It also added that robust nominal growth in listed earnings is expected to boost trading revenues.
Retail participation and derivatives to provide structural long-term growth opportunities, said Goldman Sachs.
Rupee Vs Dollar: Check Today’s Trading Range
The Indian Rupee ended flat at 85.97 on Friday, after trading within a intraday range of 85.86 to 85.97.
The currency is expected to open around 86.11 and is likely to trade in a range of 86 to 86.30 amid broad Dollar Strength, according to India Forex And Asset Management Pvt.
Meanwhile, the 1-year forward yield came off 15 basis points to 2.55% as the Reserve Bank of India conducted buy-sell swaps. On the other hand, the 3-month at-the-money-forward (ATMF) implied volatility rose by 6 basis points to 3.33%.
Avenue Supermarts Q3 Results Review: What Brokerages Say
The profit margin of Indian supermarket chain Avenue Supermarts Ltd. is set to come under pressure amid its margin focus while the competition in the industry is on the rise, analysts noted after the third quarter earnings missed expectations.
DMart has deployed increasing discounts across segments to protect bill size and growing footfall despite rising competition from quick commerce, Nuvama Institutional Equities said in a report.
“Margins would continue to be under pressure amid the high competition and management’s focus on market share followed by margins,” Nuvama said.
The brokerage cut its profit estimates for fiscal 2025 and 2026 by 11% and 17.4%, respectively, on account of lower margins. It maintained its ‘hold’ with and lowered its target to Rs 4,212 apiece, from Rs 5,040 per share earlier. This implies an upside of 13% from previous close.
