India at the moment has its eyes set on the Union Budget 2025, scheduled to be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday, Feb. 1. Before the FM presents the Budget in the Parliament, she will unveil the Economic Survey of India.

The Economic Survey of India will be tabled at the Parliament on Friday, Jan. 31, a day before the Budget.

The Economic Survey 2025 will be presented on Friday, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran will then address the media at 2:30 p.m.
What Is Economic Survey?
An economic survey is a comprehensive report that offers an in-depth analysis of India’s economy, focusing on various key sectors. It is generally divided into two sections: Part A reviews the overall economic performance, presenting data on fiscal trends and macroeconomic indicators, while Part B delves into socio-economic issues such as education, poverty, and climate change, and also offers projections for GDP growth, inflation, and trade.
The document is prepared by the Economic Division of the Department of Economic Affairs, headed by India’s Chief Economic Advisor. Currently, V. Anantha Nageswaran holds the position of Chief Economic Advisor to India. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the document at the Parliament.

Both parts of the Economic Survey focus on key economic indicators, including agricultural and industrial production, employment, infrastructure, prices, imports, exports, money supply and foreign exchange reserves.
