Asia Market Update: Stocks Extended Losses 

Asia-Pacific markets extended losses Friday morning tracking significant losses in US markets overnight after President Donald Trump’s tariffs shook global markets. The Nikkei 225 was trading 2.75% down at 33,784.09, and the CSI 300 was trading 0.59% down at 3,861.50 as of 7:44 a.m.

The KOSPI erased losses to trade 0.72% higher. South Korea’s constitutional court has given verdict to remove impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol. In case, he’s removed, election will take place in 60 days to elect next president.

US Market Update: Share Indices Slump On Fear Of Recession 

Share indices on Wall Street slumped Thursday as the US President Donald Trump imposed heavy tariffs on its trading partners to curb trade imbalances, which may lead to economic slow down.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 3.98% at 40,545.93, and the S&P 500 down 4.84% at 5,396.52. The Nasdaq Composite down 5.97% at 16,550.61.

GIFT Nifty Near 23,200; Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank, Mazagon Dock Share Prices In Focus

The GIFT Nifty was trading near 23,200 on Friday morning, with marginal losses, which implied lower open for the benchmark indices. Bajaj Finance Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd., and Vedanta Ltd. share prices may react on Friday.

The GIFT Nifty was trading 0.05% or 12.50 points down at 23,214.00 as of 6:47 a.m.

The benchmark equity indices ended in the red on Thursday, after US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on India and the world. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 82.25 points or 0.35% lower at 23,250.10 and the BSE Sensex closed 322.08 points or 0.42% down at 76,295.36.
